For 30 years, I’ve worked with a variety of nonprofits as a grant writer, fundraiser, coach, strategic planner, program development, organizational assessment, facilitator, trainer and mentor. Having held every position in the nonprofit, I’ve provided support and training to thousands of nonprofit staff, board members and volunteer leaders in 47 U.S. states, Thailand, and Canada.

Recognized as a leading expert in my field, I have helped small and large nonprofits alike raise hundreds of millions of dollars through major gift and capital campaigns, board development, annual fund campaigns, direct mail, and planned gift solicitations.

Based on my knowledge of and experience working in the nonprofit, I have developed signature introductory and advanced trainings to support brand new nonprofit starting with a sustainability plan to follow. My work as a trainer and coach has afforded me many platforms to speak at conferences, on the radio and organizational retreats.  Affectionately referred to as “The Grant Guru” and “The Nonprofit Guru”, I am here to help you take your vision of helping other to a plan for sustainability that your community values the great work that you do.

A graduate of Tuskegee University, I received a Bachelor of Science in Political Science. My career began when I wrote my first grant proposal as a class assignment in college.  The grant was awarded $250,000 from HUD for Drug & Alcohol elimination in the public housing community of Kingsport, TN.  From there I have grown to hold every single job in a nonprofit and expertly shows leaders how program, finance and fund development must work together for organizational sustainability.

Currently, I am the Pastor of Good Ground Christian Assembly and works full time as a consultant, master coach, trainer and public speaker.  I like to say that Paul built tents to support him in ministry and I build nonprofits.
